We’re beginning underground, stepping into the strange and brilliant world of fungi, mycelium and decomposition. We’ll discover how the forest recycles what has fallen and how an entire hidden network of life is working beneath our feet.

Nothing in the forest exists alone. This week we’ll explore ecology through the relationships between plants, animals, fungi, soil and us. Expect food webs, life cycles, games and plenty of discovering who depends on who.

How does the natural world respond when things change? Through active games, challenges and experiments, we’ll explore balance, regulation and homeostasis — from our own bodies working to keep us warm to the ways living things adapt as autumn gets colder. A very movement-heavy week to get bodies working too!

We’ll end our journey at All Hallows, an ancient turning point in the seasonal year. We’ll explore autumn traditions, remembrance and ancestors, and the old idea of the veil between worlds growing thin as we move towards winter. Expect fire, storytelling, making and a little forest magic as we gather to mark the end of our autumn journey.
